On the 5th of October join the 'We need to talk about consumption'
As a community and a country we need to rethink how we consume in Scotland and throughout the world to genuinely stop our contribution to the climate catastrophe.
The data shows that the items and materials we create, consume, and discard account for around four-fifths of Scotland's carbon footprint. The Material Flow Account reported last year that the typical Scot consumes 18.4 tonnes of materials per year, which is the equivalent of 50kg per week.
The proof is indisputable. Scotland's consumption is unsustainable, and many other countries across the world are likely to follow suit.

SOCIALS
Zero Waste Scotland plan to organise a virtual event one month before COP26 arrives in Glasgow, with the goal of increasing the emphasis of debate on the problem of consumerism and its relationship to carbon emissions, which is conspicuously absent from the COP26 agenda and larger climate crisis discussions. Hence why you should stay linked with their social media to make sure you don't miss out!
