Why make the switch to Orbit/CORRETTO?
If you want to support guilt-free coffee, help keep the streets & parks clean, the convenience of having a durable re-usable cup, help your community stay green and do your part in saving the climate. The public has consciously tried opting out paper based cups because they are single use product that does not have an effective way of recycling. The statistics say that only 1 in 400 cups are recycled while the remaining figure are discarded in landfill sites, this is not ideal and rather alarming because waste sites have to burn the discarded material which creates an unnecessary volume of carbon dioxide adding to the greenhouse gases.
The report finding...
The production process of a CORRETTO is a process that advertises the least amount of carbon production starting with:
Make - When polypropylene (PP) plastic is manufactured and moulded into cups, CO2 is produced. To decrease the quantity of CO2 produced, Corretto cups utilise just a minimal amount of plastic and machine energy.
Use - Reusable cups are used to serve drinks. Cups are either brand new or re-used after being washed by consumers or food service providers.
Wash - When a reusable cup is washed, far less CO2 is produced than when a paper cup is prepared. The energy required to purify water, deliver it to a tap, and power the dishwasher has been calculated.
End of life - CO2 is not produced when cups are repurposed (for example, as plant pots). PP may be recycled from home and commercial trash. PP produced from previously used plastic emits far less CO2 and can be utilised for things like coat hangers. Some municipal governments burn trash to produce electricity, which emits CO2. When PP is disposed of, it emits relatively little CO2.
Environmental benefits
Reduced marine pollution
Reuse incentives reduce the chance of littering, which pollutes the ocean.
Ocean recovered plastic has the potential to be plastic-neutral. The potential for additional Deposit-Return systems to be established will help to minimise trash and marine pollution.
95% less CO2
After a year, when compared to paper cups. With rPP, you can cut CO2 emissions even further. The use of recycled polypropylene and innovative foaming technology minimises the environmental effect even more.
Recycled with existing open
loop waste processing
Polypropylene recapture is easy and widespread across UK waste processors. Scope to increase recycling with closed loop Capture by food service providers and Deposit-Return schemes will further boost recycling.
36 times less likely to go to landfill (or be burnt)
Currently only 1 paper cup in every 400 is recycled. Polypropylene is widely recycled by UK waste processors because of market demand.
Long lasting reusable cups
EcoCore™ creates strong, durable cups that are ‘too good to throw away’ and lasts over 365 washes.
Recycling
Cups can be recycled when
they reach the end of their life.
