Remake is a Crieff based community reuse charity with a scrapstore and is run by local volunteers and staff. Our purpose is to promote the reuse of materials for the benefit of our community. Remake is a local solution to a global problem. Remake was founded in 2011 and became a charity in 2013 and currently runs a number of projects from our base at the Crieff Visitor Centre in Perthshire including Remake Community Reuse & Repair (tool library, repair cafes, classes, demos, commercial surplus & offcuts from industry), Remake Futures (employability & work skills) plus a volunteer programme. Remake works with over 40 volunteers from a variety of ages, abilities and backgrounds and we have a particular focus on promoting intergenerational community building and skills sharing.”

Items we collect include: art & craft materials, building materials, fabric, fixtures, curtains, homewares, household furniture, office furniture, tables, chairs, dressers, garden equipment, musical instruments, scrapstore & loose parts materials, small electrical appliances and items, tools, DIY, sports equipment, textiles, haberdashery, vintage, architectural salvage, jewellery, paper & card, wool, model making, commercial & educational surplus, ex-display, overstock, industry offcuts, scientific ware, retro.
We are currently working on starting a local Tool Library where people will be able to borrow tools as well as learn valuable repairing skills that will reduce waste and increase circularity.
Remake has 9 staff, 40+ volunteers & 1000+ members. Since April 2019, we have diverted 43 tonnes of reusable materials away from landfill and back into the circular economy.
