A true believer of the Circular Economy in theory and practice, Rami Zaatari is a Sector Officer for Economic Development with Angus Council focusing on renewables. Within his role he has a specific focus upon the Circular & Green Economy, Energy and Offshore Wind.
Rami has a passion to learn more about Circular Economy practices across Tayside, share best practice and realise the great opportunities that Circular Economy offers, while contributing to the Scottish government ambitious targets of net-zero emissions by 2045. He is looking forward to meeting with the other Ambassadors in the area and help create the necessary strategic partnerships towards a more Circular Tayside, as well as keep relevant policy informed.
Rami was born in Aleppo/Syria and received a Bachelor of Banking and Finance and a Master of Economics at the University of Aleppo. Since 2008, Rami have worked with international organisations in the field of competitiveness & development and rebuilding of Syria. In 2014, He moved to Scotland and completed an MSc in Global Economy at the University of Glasgow. Rami is currently completing his PhD on the Green Economy at the University of Glasgow.
