Lauren is an enthusiastic, friendly, born and bred Kirriemuirian with a first class University education in Geography and Environmental Science and a professional background in Sustainability. She has a wealth of public and third sector experience in community engagement, events planning, social media, waste reduction activity and climate change awareness raising.
She is currently working for the climate action community group Sustainable Kirriemuir, having jumped at the opportunity to help bring net zero to her hometown. As Learning & Events Leader, Lauren is coordinating a reduction in local food, textile and other waste, whilst also organising and implementing a range of fun, educational events, activities and campaigns to improve and increase climate change understanding and awareness, including the concept of circularity. As part of the Circular Tayside Ambassadors Group, Lauren will represent local businesses and hopes to support them in the process of transitioning to a circular economy.
