Dundee-based engineering firm Albacom has championed the circular economy for some time and has recently put the spotlight on sustainable engineering after merging with energy storage company Genista Energy.
Albacom has put emphasis on developing circular approaches to its operations, highlighting the importance of adding longevity to offshore drilling equipment. The firm’s merger with Genista Energy has further established Albacom’s commitment to the circular economy and has expanded Albacom’s offering into the renewable energy sector.
Genista Energy designs custom configurable lithium-ion battery storage solutions which store energy when it is available from renewable sources and release it on demand for use across a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
Jim Davidson, CEO of Albacom, is a Circular Tayside ambassador and is passionate about the circular economy and its potential within electronic design and manufacturing. Jim has commented on Albacom’s place within the circular economy; he said: “The energy transition is changing the way we use power, from electric vehicle charging to specialist battery systems.
