I am founder and director of J-Rao Contemporary Apothecary.
We believe that the apothecary market provides an exciting space to tackle some of the challenges faced by the cosmetic industry by developing more conscious products. We launched in 2017 and set out to pioneer a range of premium products with high quality ingredients alongside the values and principles of the more conscious consumer. Our products are: Gender neutral, embrace circular economy through a specific focus on design and use organic and natural ingredients exclusively.
The principles of circularity are a key stone in how we approach product development across the value chain, from sourcing ingredients, product development, right through to our distribution. We recognise the opportunity to be part of a regional community through the Circular Tayside Ambassador program as a place to grow as a start-up, exchange in practice, and support in the cultivation of a more equitable and resilient local economy.
My expertise are specifically on socio-environmental related challenges relating to resilience and sustainability research at a community and SME / organisational level. The heart of my activities revolves around collaborating and partnership working on projects that can contribute to a more sustainable and conscious society, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to build new connections with other ambassadors through this program.
